Quandary formed in September, 2024 – offshoots of two quartets that were on hiatus, and we’ve been in a quandary ever since. 

Matt Tomac, tenor, has been a BHS member for three years and has dual membership with the Clipper City Chordsmen and the Baylander Chorus in Green Bay. If two choruses and a quartet weren’t “quandary” enough, Matt has a wife and four kids that fill in the rest of his time. Oh, and a job!

Derek Luckow, lead, has been a BHS member for nine years. Derek is the closest thing we have to a true musician, as he has a degree in music from St. Norbert College. Derek serves as Lead Section Leader for the Clipper City Chordsmen.

Tim Steffen, bass, has been a BHS member for twenty-four years. Tim is the “utility player” of the group, singing tenor and serving as Tenor Section Leader for the Clipper City Chordsmen, while singing bass in quandary.

Dave Buss, baritone, has been a BHS member for forty-seven years vows to keep doing it until he gets it right.  Dave is the Music Director of the Clipper City Chordsmen. Recently retired, Dave is currently in a quandary on where life will go from here.

Quandary enjoys singing a variety of music in the barbershop style and hopes you enjoy their performances!
