You’re invited to “Singing in Harmony” on Saturday, September 19, at the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance, 6751 Calumet Avenue, Manitowoc. The event will be emceed by Biff Hansen, and will feature the Clipper City Chordsmen Chorus and Quartets, our new Badger Belles Chorus, special guests Roncalli Singers, Reedsville High School Choir, and the Singing in Harmony Ensemble (click on link for more information about the Ensemble).

CHANCES TO WIN! Great Themed Raffle Baskets

The Clipper City Chordsmen have been supporting music education in the lakeshore area for over 80 years. In 2025, they raised over $16,000 and shared the entire amount with area music programs. This year, the Chordsmen would love to pass that total through donations, raffle baskets, and free will admission for their September show. This year, they have a $2,500 challenge grant in place already so all donations up to that amount are essentially doubled.

If you are unable to attend this event and would like to make a tax deductible donation, it can be sent by mail to our Treasurer (3306 Lindbergh Drive, Manitowoc, WI 54220), given to any Chordsmen member, or completed online by clicking on the “Contribute Now!” button below.

All donations through the end of September will be put toward our fundraising goal for Music Education.

Singing in Harmony Ensemble

The Clipper City Chordsmen invite men to join their voices with ours us for a limited time to help us to raise money for music education in Manitowoc County. Last September, we raised over $16,000 and shared the entire amount with area schools by sending checks for $1,750 to every high school music program in Manitowoc County. This September, we want to surpass that total.

On September 19, 2026, the Chordsmen will host Singing in Harmony at the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance, 6751 Calumet Avenue in Manitowoc. In addition to musical performances, there will also be a raffle of multiple gift baskets. Participating with the Chordsmen will be choruses from Roncalli High School and Reedsville High School. To make this day even more special, we are reaching out to men in our community who may be willing to learn three songs along with the Chordsmen and to sing with them on stage at the end of the show. 

There is no obligation to join the Chordsmen and you won’t even have to memorize the songs. We have included a link here with a .pdf of the chart and learning tracks to the three songs. The high school students who are participating will also join us in the final song “Harmony.”

If you are interested in being a part of this program, we will be having special rehearsals on Tuesday nights starting on August 18th from 6:30-7:30 at Grow It Forward at the corner of 15th and Marshall Streets in Manitowoc. Since this is also our regular rehearsal time, you are welcome to stay through our full rehearsal that runs until 9 PM, but we will have a short break at 7:30 to allow anyone wishing to leave then to enjoy some conversation and have us answer any questions.

Additional rehearsals will be on the following Tuesday nights (8/25, 9/1, 9/8, and 9/15). The show itself will be on the afternoon of September 19th from 1-3 PM. We will warm up at the Franciscan Center at noon. Attendance at every rehearsal is not expected, but know that the chorus will be learning these songs right along with you, so attendance at as many as possible helps us all.
