Chordsmen Harmony Award
Each year, the Clipper City Chordsmen seek nominations of those special individuals in our community who have made the Lakeshore Area a better place to live through their selfless service to others. This award provides an opportunity to highlight and thank those people for giving all of us a little more harmony in our lives.
Most years, this award is presented at our annual Christmas Show in December. If you know of anyone who you think has taken that extra step to make your life a bit better, please let us know.

Congratulations Dr. Don DeBruyn, our Harmony Award Winner for 2025! CCC president Bill Fricke presented the award at the Chordsmen’s recent Christmas Show. Dr. DeBruyn, a retired physician who served the Manitowoc-Two Rivers area for over 35 years, was nominated because of his long history of involvement in local organizations working toward protecting our environment and providing affordable housing for lakeshore residents.
Dr. DeBruyn’s many accomplishments include:
- Helping to set up the local nonprofit Habitat for Humanity, serving as a board member multiple times and as a volunteer laborer
- Serving as Director emeritus of the Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Preserve
- Vocal supporter of the Two Rivers Ecumenical Pantry (TREP)
- Citizen representative of the Two Rivers Environmental Advisory Committee and the Lakeshore Natural Resources Committee
- Trail steward for two segments (approximately 7 miles) within the Lakeshore Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance
- Very active church member; holding many leadership positions
